Description
Set in Melbourne, Girl On The Boulevard is the story of a teenage girl's experiences the day after she leaves school.

Produced and Directed by the late Ian Robert Parker and starring top Australian model Jill Goodall with a cameo by Norman Kaye, the first screenings of Girl On The Boulevard took place in Melbourne in 1975. Sadly, the film was then withdrawn following the collapse of Ian Robert Parker's health.
The restoration of Girl On The Boulevard will be released in 2010, including a new recording of the music.

Ian Robert Parker [1928 - 1989]
The late Ian Robert Parker decided, after a lengthy career as a school teacher at two of Australia's top schools [Scotch College and Haileybury College] in his late 30s, to make cinema his life's work. He won a Melbourne Film Society Prize for his outstanding short film Quiet City (1967) - a cinematic study set to the music of Aaron Copland - and produced a number of excellent documentaries, most notably A School Called Scotch, a pilot version of The Girl On The Boulevard (1970) and the complete film The Girl On The Boulevard (1975) on 16mm.
